Finally getting around to reading "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up". Can confirm @modernserf's prediction that it's much weirder than I expected.
Working at a library cures you if this. Libraries chuck out books all the time. Sure, mass burninf specific books could be a sign of totalitarianism, but most books are lighthearted twaddle and can be treated as such.

I'm surprised I had such a strong redaction tbh. Writing in books is weird but mostly ok. Giving away books is easy to actively desirable. Throwing away a book is uncomfortable but no big deal. Tearing out pages is somehow deeply unsettling and I don't know why.
