New ep: @AnnaRRose & @tarunchitra chat w/ @sreeramkannan about how information theory & blockchain intersect. The philosophical reasoning of shifting from genomic to blockchain research & his 2 areas of focus in P2P systems: max throughput & low latency

hey,
after reviewing the first project built on eigenlayer aka eigenda, let's talk about another project that could be built on eigenlayer, let's call it :
eigensettle
how would it look like ?

ZK tech is the prime ex of the power of open innovation. Just a few yrs ago it was 🌕 math that many were unsure would have any real applicability. Now we have clear paths for it to be deeply integral in blockchain systems. All bc the products of exploration were shared openly.
The MEV supply chain on Ethereum is ripe for disruption because of a lack of robust financial incentives. There are a handful of solutions to the MEV problem being worked on for implementation in 2023.
Let's dive in.https://galaxy.com/research/whitepapers/mev-the-rise-of-the-builders/…
Existential dilemmas in blockchain:
Immutability vs agility
Sovereignty vs composability
Openness vs value-accrual
Objectivity vs subjectivity
(e.g. governance, hacks, inflation)
Democratic governance vs rate-of-innovation
Transparency vs privacy (ZK, FHE, SMC can solve this).
It's awesome for crypto when people with serious horsepower share the core values of sovereignty, permissionlessness and privacy, and dedicate their time to building here: hearty congrats to
We are announcing Axiom, the ZK coprocessor for Ethereum: http://axiom.xyz/blog/intro
Axiom provides smart contracts trustless access to all on-chain data and arbitrary expressive compute over it. Like GPUs do for CPUs, Axiom augments blockchain consensus with zero-knowledge proofs.

Why are there so many different L2s or rollup flavors?
Why the ever-increasing complexity in the zk-rollup space?
Cairo, Noir, zkEVM, Zinc, Miden, Nightfall
What if I told you all the diversity is a good thing.
Your DeFi app can pick its flavor 🧵
1/ Excited to share that @sovereign_labs is emerging from stealth with $7.4m in seed funding from @haunventures, @maven11capital, @1kxnetwork, and @robotventures.
Building a scalable network without sacrificing decentralization is one of the biggest opportunities in crypto.
, majority of costs for middleware protocols consist of cost of capital --paying stakers in the form of token emissions (protocol cost)-- and not related to operating costs of running nodes. High TVL played its role in 2020, but most protocols...
. Optimistic rollups are a great place to experiment with every possible programming environment. Especially if all programs can manipulate a common synchronous state.
Can we be EVM equivalent but also give better affordances to non-EVM developers?
Can we add support for non-EVM contracts (e.g. Rust or Move) in a single synchronous execution environment alongside EVM contracts?
We had the pleasure of having @sreeramkannan from @eigenlayer on the show.
We explored the concept of "re-staking" and its use cases.
Delved into how RS is implemented, how it might disrupt existing systems, as well as how to build on Eigen.

EigenLayer X Frax
What would a collaboration between EigenLayer and Frax look like?
Some thoughts on the matter + reminders on EigenLayer & Frax.

Are set to launch their re-staking protocol which allows for the extension of ETH’s base security layer to provide other products and services on the network.
We’re excited for the unlock and will be watching for projects using re-staking (DM if that’s you!)

è un'infrastruttura che consente di ri-usare i propri $ETH in staking su altre blockchain, in modo da creare nuovi sistemi di validazione che sfruttino la sicurezza di Ethereum.

Eigenlayer creates a ton of space for projects to innovate by tapping into the trust network Ethereum has been cultivating for years. A project to watch for sure.
(1/25) @ethereum Roadmap: @eigenlayer and Trustless Services
Re-staking is coming to change Etheruem, forever. Learn how this new paradigm will enable a new category of services and transform $ETH into the pristine collateral of trustless trust.
A few ideas worth building.
EigenLayer could hyperscale Ethereum
@santiagoroel and I spoke with @sreeramkannan and @cjliu49 to learn why @eigenlayer has been all the rage recently:
1) What is EigenLayer
2) Re-staking
3) Core use cases
4) Risks
5) Business model

Proof of Work and Proof of Stake are tools we use to build systems devoid of trust. Both consensus mechanisms enable centralized actors (miners/validators) to trustlessly take unilateral actions.
The theory behind trustlessness.

We have loved to see #Ethereum staking, liquid staking derivatives and censorship resistance get so much attention in the community over the last few months
A few highlights: 🧵
anyway for the short term, initial adoption is expected to come from liquid restaking.
imo we are done for now concerning slashing mechanics on eigenlayer
next recap will help to relax about : "but man with eigenlayer we will be overleveraged ! ononono"

stack can be a game changer for the entire Ethereum ecosystem. EigenLayer is creating a thesis for Ethereum to be the settlement layer for a bunch of middleware (e.g. Oracles, appchains, layer 2s) and DApps.
