Even money that the project ends up with <10% of worldwide diversity? For that sample size, of course, say defined by weighted Fst (i.e. few Khoisan individuals, for instance, will not come close to capture the huge Khoisan diversity or relative population size)

But the goal here, presumably, is to provide fodder for medical genetic research - and there simply aren’t that many Khoisan in the world. Sounds like what you’re proposing is closer to the Genographic fieldwork, with populations included for anthropological reasons...

Yes, I realize, hence the criteria of relative to pop size, weighed by it. Khoisan will be underrepresented by size, as many other populations will, and yet more severely underrepresented by the fraction of pop diversity captured for the sampled size relative to that of Europeans

I agree with
@razibkhan. Come and sequence more here in Queens! I live right by where you sampled last time and I'd be happy to be your boots on the ground for more! (And I know how to do sample collection/handling, although most of my subjects, to date, have been postmortem lol)Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
