Ah! So totally agree we're saying the same thing when it comes to certain types of videos aka videos with more mature themes, or that contain a lot of violence, raciness, etc – there's a greater chance those will be both demonetized and not recommended.
YouTube doesn't profit on the quality of content. They profit on the quantity of viewers watching moderately popular videos with ad-sense enabled.

But YouTube was made why ? So people could “broadcast themselves” to the world . Share their creative ideas and spread a message , now you can’t do that , it’s the fact that creative freedom is gone that is seriously frustrating the viewers and creators of the platform

Cat videos, dude. I know there were a lot of content creators pouring their heart and soul into their work, but YouTube got popular on cat videos and bumfights.
