There's no changing my mind on this and this is coming from someone that didn't just watch the shit, I recorded episodes I knew I'd miss on VHS just to catch that shit. That was my bread and butter but... ... Bitch I grew.

South Park has ruined people. Not JUST because of the way it 'punches down' in an attempt to be above the fray and as centrist as possible, but because it's weaponized being detached and uncaring to the point that even being aware of the fuckshit way we're treated makes us jokes

Worst thing I did when I was younger was read "He Talk Like A White Boy" by Joseph C. Phillips. It had a section where he basically advocated that 'we used to not be so harried by being called the N word because we could be above the fray' completely forgetting...

that was one of the few instances my parents - both military vets - told me I could swing on a motherfucker. Cause they grew up in that shit. And they knew that throwing the "Hard R" was a violent act meant to dictate you didn't/shouldn't exist.

Not saying they WANTED me - or us - to fight but, if we did, they'd understand and defend us to the fullest. Because it's an emotional reaction. And we're human. We're ALLOWED an emotional reaction. They are. They're allowed to vote on these emotions; to make laws.

I can’t speak for the last season (as I saw zero of it). It that’s what I appreciated most about Boondocks... it knew what it wanted to say and often smacked apathy in the face.
