Al Michaels just made a joke implying income taxes are higher than they were in 1975. In fact, they are much lower. pic.twitter.com/hGDhn1Inbk

@sportswithjohn Government's total take is likely up.

@Running4Shape you mean as a percentage of GDP? Maybe very slightly, but it's been quite stable since the 1960s. http://www.justfacts.com/taxes.asp

@sportswithjohn That does not include Obamacare, and my HC has went up 300%. 900/month more. Is that a Tax?

@Running4Shape I can't speak to your healthcare costs, as I am not your insurer. Overall healthcare costs are flat: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_in_the_United_States#/media/File:U.S._Healthcare_Costs_as_a_Percentage_of_GDP.png …

@sportswithjohn You're on drugs and intellectually dishonest. Health care cost are not even close to flat.

@Running4Shape This is nonpartisan data. It's not debateable whether health care costs are flat. You can discuss WHY, but not whether.

@sportswithjohn First Wiki is not non-partisan. The people not on subsidies are paying much, much more. Enjoy your free shit. Typical Obama

@WontComply I was not aware that posting a graph of marginal tax rates over time in the United States constituted flipping out.

@sportswithjohn How does this compare with Average Earnings? 1975 dollars were worth more than 2015 dollars are now. This is more complex.

@rollo75 no it's not. The graph shows tax RATES. Inflation isn't relevant to tax rates.

@cbnuttree @sportswithjohn context is everything. why make a crack about taxes being higher now? common GOP trope, helps discredit Obama.
