is forcing my parents into paying for ads. EVERY TIME they called & my parents said no, a good review got taken down. they claimed "coincidence" but it happened TWENTY FOUR TIMES. they do this often to small businesses that can't afford to lose the few reviews they have

stop LYING. You guys keep deleting my friend’s business’s customers reviews and they only appear when she rebuys ads. Yall also need to quit randomly calling my bf to make him purchase ads for his photography. I don’t even trust using your app anymore i quit.

also removed EIGHTEEN (18) of my 5 star reviews. 99% of the reviews they removed are from customers I was communicating with through the yelp app, and scheduled and appointment with them through the yelp app. Isn’t that 100% proof that I got the job done?

I used to work at a small family-owned business, and Yelp totally pulled this extortion tactic on us (unfortunately, we gave in and paid them—not my call), but this was years ago. Sad they're still doing this. If you must use Yelp, sort by date and show hidden reviews, too.

This isn't an isolated incident. Yelp deserves no-star reviews. Not recommended.

If they were apologizing / trying to make things right instead of gaslighting, it would be a different story

    - interested in paying for Yelp's business services at the moment (after cancelling last summer). It's been extremely annoying. After reading your thread, I checked our 2 pages and sure enough, more than half of our reviews were hidden 😑

This thread made me double check my company's 2 pages (for our different locations). I'm the person who has been deflecting phone calls from Yelp for my boss and the same 2 women have been calling repeatedly for the past few months, despite me telling them we're currently not -

This is pure extortion. Why is the ONE bad review continuously popping up AT THE TOP of that business’s page if recommendations “change daily”? I can’t wait for all the truths about Yelp to come out. Stop harassing small businesses just bc they don’t buy ads!!!!
