On top of groceries I just realized I did my last tshot yesterday. I'm fighting with my states medicaid to get it covered but it's finicky because of being "trans healthcare". Until then I need 60$ to get my prescription for next week. Any help means a lot

Their demands are reasonable and necessary. This state's prisons have done so much harm to so many people, and all I can hope is that these strikes do some good for them.

Thousands of men incarcerated in Alabama prisons are striking and refusing to be used for prison labor and made to suffer countless human rights violations anymore. These are some of their demands:

I got almost this exact same email scam This is also why if I get emails that are too suspiciously vague, I trash them. But I could be missing out on prospective clients who just donโ€™t know how to write emailsโ€”so please see my thread below on how to contact a freelancer ๐Ÿงต

Hey, so, heads up to any freelance artists; I was almost scammed recently by a prospective "client", and was just contacted again with a similar inquiry. Its complicated so heres a ๐Ÿงต.

i could go on about misunderstanding hyperfocus as being completely separate from hyperfixation, but the definitions point that out on their own. next time i speak to my doctor i will bring this up to her and QRT the first tweet in this thread with her answer. (8/8)

i am sick of online discourse & am not going to contribute. i am making this statement b/c i don't want to see this misinformation spread further when i am knowledgeable on the topic. STOP GATEKEEPING MEDICAL TERMS. YOU CANNOT GATEKEEP TERMS FROM THOSE WHO EXPERIENCE THEM. (7/8)

here is OP's reply to my tweets, completely missing the point of my statement being that ADHD people using the term "hyperfixation" is not misuse. they then closed the thread, clearly not wanting an actual discussion or conversation about this. (6/8)
The same redacted user with the clown emoji covering their icon's reply to my own response. Reads as follows:

"As someone who is also diagnosed with adhd and autism who regularly speaks with qualified professionals about this: no

"We can communicate with eachother without misusing terminology in a way that waters down the actual meaning"

here was my reply to OP, please note how i was not rude at all. i also did not see any other replies that were rude, angry, or even sarcastic before OP closed the thread. (5/8)
My own reply to the thread which are two tweets that read as follows:
1.) "i get what you're trying to say, but this is a bad take. adhd and autism go hand in hand and are often co-diagnosed. gatekeeping " hyperfixation" does nothing but make it harder for us to communicate. ive met adhd people that absolutely hyperfixate and don't just experience (cont)
2.) hyperfocus. those same people aren't also on the autism spectrum. sincerely, someone diagnosed with both adhd and autism who regularly speaks with qualified professionals about this terminology.

she went on to define it with similar wording as the image below. hyperfocus is also experienced by people with adhd and/or autism and i'll include the definition google provides for it as well as an article's statement proving both are experienced with BOTH adhd & autism. (3/8)
Image is a definition of "hyperfixation": Hyperfixation happens when you're completely engrossed in something, to the point where it becomesall-consuming and disrupts your day-to-day functioning. It gets hard to focus on anything other than the object of your hyperfixation. You can become hyperfixated on a hobby, interest, person, place, etc.
Definition of "hyperfocus": Hyperfocus, broadly and anecdotally speaking, is a phenomenon that reflects one's complete absorption in a task, to a point where a person appears to completely ignore or 'tune out' everything else. It is generally reported to occur when a person is engaged in an activity that is particularly fun or interesting.
"People with ADHD (and autism) may be prone to hyperfixation, which refers to an intense and single-minded focus on a specific object or topic. This can manifest in several ways, such as becoming preoccupied with a particular TV show, toy, or video game.

an example i'm willing to share of a medical professional who's mentioned the context for this is my own doctor. she's a mental health specialist & in our first meeting she said "like you, i also have ADHD and with ADHD, like autism, you tend to have "hyperfixations."" (2/8)

censored their name because im not a jerk. wanted to post this and talk about this take going around so i can get ahead of the curve and point out that this is genuinely a horrible take. i talk to mental health professionals regularly and i myself am both adhd and autistic. (1/8)
A thread of three tweets from a redacted user who's icon is covered with a clown emoji. Tweets are as follows:
1.) "If you aren't autistic, you can't use the word hyperfixation please stop overusing it"
2.) "Not even if you have ADHD, you mean a hyperfocus not a hyperfixation"
3.) Tired of quirky pekple using autistic terminology just to seem like "cutesy introverts

i really want to work on rebootober this year, even if it's just finishing the prompt list from last year. reboot is my all time favorite series and it's a tragedy that i've barely done any art for it!

been struggling to draw for well over a month and a half now. august was an insanely hard month for me and now getting back to working on art seems impossible.
