Bought new MacBook Pro. One of the keys didn't work unless you really whacked it. Spent 4 weeks waiting for a replacement from Apple (1/2)

On the replacement, another key is broken... it sometimes presses itself. Basically impossible to type correctly on this machine (2/2)

I’m awaiting the Dell XP 15 refresh this round, infinity screen + specs make it far more attractive IMO: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10937/dell-readies-new-xps-15-4k-quad-core-kaby-lake-geforce-gtx-1050 …

…which is unfortunate, I strongly prefer macOS for general usage on a laptop. Apple doesn’t care about dev machines anymore :(

meanwhile my touchbar always gets frozen (except ESC still works). Always have to reboot

Similar issues with touchbar. Often looks off, then touch where ESC _should_ be and that part works.

Simple fix. You need to write a touchbar app that has a software key for each of your broken physical keys.

switch to Linux. Then the keyboard won't work at all and you won't be bothered by that key.

wow that sucks. I know correlation != causation, but it seems like QA has gotten worse at Apple, in both hardware and software :(

compared to older MBPs, key travel on the newest one is practically a myth.

Bet you're remembering that old Thinkpad keyboard--on the machine you disliked because there were stickers and vents on the bottom.
