@spolsky @aloraine205 this should be required watching for biologists, bioinformaticians and, in particular, @drchriscole & @iosefward ;)

@nickschurch @spolsky @drchriscole @iosefward I use Excel spreadsheets a lot - for budgets. I had no idea! He used to work at MS - on Excel.

@aloraine205 @nickschurch @spolsky @iosefward we all use spreadsheets a lot, but it shouldn't be used for science

@drchriscole @aloraine205 @spolsky @iosefward ok for some simple science, but bioinformatics? I think I can agree with you there.

@nickschurch @aloraine205 @spolsky @iosefward so why are you saying it should be reqd watching for biologists...?

      7. Nick Schurch ‏@nickschurch 16 Sep 2015

@drchriscole @aloraine205 @spolsky @iosefward because most don't do bioinformatics & use excel already - at least they could use it well..

@nickschurch @aloraine205 @spolsky @iosefward they use it primarily for data sharing and data analysis. It's wrong for both use cases.
