Why is it so hard to find a Lionel Richie look-a-like. Of course, that's only needed because isn't on Cameo :(

Also, how hard would it be to put an extra earth pin on the bottom so you can flip plugs with bulky units. Surely a simple mechanical way to switch live and neutral when you plug it in?

USB C was a great step forward, but can we put a charging port on both ends of the phone as well, for complete mindlessness?

We have a thing at work where we get to play music for everyone for 30 minutes and I chose video game music. Here is the what and the why.

I wrote an article for my companies blog around how we maintain separation of concerns whilst using Tailwind CSS. (In short, we wrote and released a tool to help).

Most spare parts are already available for these appliances. The problem is they aren't available *cheaply*. Combine this with the cost of an engineer (if you can't DIY) and suddenly it's beyond economic repair. A step in the right direction though.

Bigscreen seems to offer some great advantages (seeing people's hand gestures, 3d white boarding etc. multiple large screens wherever you want them etc.) but I wonder if those benefits aren't outweighed by the inconvenience of wearing a headset and struggling to use keyb/mouse.

Today I'm going to do this course () on Svelte. It's run by himself - so it doesn't get much better than that. Plus, my employer is paying for it - win!

Have any of my lovely followers used Svelte + Sapper and have any opinions? I have a greenfield project and I'm tempted to put my career on the line by trying it.

Cyberpunk delayed again, but honestly I'd rather have delayed games with fewer bugs than feel like I'm beta testing. Besides, gives people time for their 3080s to arrive. Give the Devs a break!

Just bought another Asus AC68U router to run as a MESH. Can't believe how simple that was to setup and now I have full coverage in my flat's dead spots. Just turned on, search for node, done.

Why are refill coffee granule bags always more expensive than buying a new jar. I kind of feel they are missing the point. Make the bags bigger, that would be a good start - instead they are 250g. Give me a 2Kg bag at a lower rate.

My Powerbook 170 arrived today. It looks like new-old-stock, I can't believe how good the condition is. Better than the one I owned 22 years ago. It needs a full re-cap, but the hard drive sounds like it's repairable!

I've just finished restoring this Apple Powerbook 100 to working order. This was Apple's first laptop ever released, in 1991. If that interests you - you can read my write up here!

My cat pissed in my box of electronics repair things. Whole bag of capacitors likely ruined amongst other things. At least I have an ESR tester, so I could potentially check them one by one before I used them. Not a happy bunny.

I'm at a loss on how to repair this single line of black pixels on this 1991 Powerbook 100 I've almost fully restored. I've touched up the ribbon cable solder pads on that side of the screen but it made no difference. can you offer any help?

I rescued a 1995 1.3GB drive the other day by simply opening up and gently moving the all the moving parts around and putting it back together. Something must have just seized a small amount and needing breaking loose.

These things use 2.5" SCSI drives that are almost impossible to find. However, I have the Connor drive, which usually fails where the head gets stuck against a piece of rubber. Often just putting a small piece of tape around the rubber solves the problem.
