Hey, you.
Yes, you!
Put your pronouns in your bio!
Yes, even if you’re cis.
Help normalize pronoun sharing and protect trans people from unwanted identification!
Thanks, you

If it doesn’t matter to you, say that, make an active affirmative statement of your indifference. Otherwise, it might come across that you don’t think respecting other peoples’ referral preferences are important.
-
It doesn't matter to me. In fact that's why I don't upload pictures of myself or say anything about it in any of my conversations.I find it kinda liberating, in a way. Here on the internet my gender, my race, my age or my nationality doesn't matter.only ideas are of value here.
-
I’m wary of this notion in that ideas /about/ race, gender, nationality, and generally most political statements are often shaped by and best assessable with the context of your identity. A white person’s thoughts about race don’t matter as much as a person of color’s.
-
Why would the colour of your skin alter the value of an idea? if someone thinks a determinate race shoudn't exist, why does it matter the direction of that hatred matter? The value is in the content of the argument, not in the speaker who says so.
-
It's not about the skin colour altering your idea. It's about your experiences as that skin colour giving you a different perception.
-
I agree that your circumstances can alter your perspective on things, different experiences craft different ideas. The only way I see that argument work is as an argument from personal experience, which is not very useful?
-
It's not just about arguments. It's about everything you write on the internet. It's all shaped by that fact that you're a (race), (gender), (sexual orientation). It does matter, even if it's not an every day issue that comes up. The idea of colourblind is a very white notion
-
that tells the rest of us to basically erase our experiences and identities because white folk are uncomfortable with the fact ideas/cultures/values are different and shaped differently and celebrated differently.

My understanding is that currently if someone chooses to put their pronouns on their bio it's basically stating that they're trans in some way. If cis people do it as well, then it ceases to be a 'red flag'. In a way it's a form of online camouflage.
-
what is cis? so they are trying to hide their identity?wouln't be easier to hide leting people call you whatever they want?it's not like gender comes up often in online conversations anyways.
-
Answer these two questions: (i) What gender do you think you are? (ii) What gender were you assigned at birth? If the answers to (i) and (ii) are the same, then you're cis. If they are different then you are trans.
-
oh I didn't know there was a word for not trans.
