It means not having to be controlled by others, be that Islamic theocracy in the Middle East, or Right-Wing journalism in the West. Simple, no?

Right wing journalism is controlling who or what exactly? Unlike liberals who are lemming-like, following whatever CNN or MSNBC tell them, conservatives as a general rule think for themselves. That's why we're conservatives.
-
No Vincent. What I'm saying is that there is a regular trope in RW journalism that fixates on the hijab as an instrument of control rather than the choice of a woman of whether or not to wear a hijab.
-
Seeing as how women have no choice, it IS an instrument of control. Witness the symbolism of women in Iran taking them off, against all law and custom.
-
OK Vincent, let's do this one more time. 1. Women in Western democracies are not compelled to wear hijab by law. They are a cultural choice. 2. Spiked are stating that the hijab symbolises control and are trying to challenge the freedom to wear a hijab.
-
One more time. It dies not matter where, it IS control.
-
It appears that you are not clearing the necessary cognitive hurdles to appreciate the point.

Yes men see female hair/ leg="objectification" were all men should be count as "pervert", yet if women see male bodybuilder w/ underwear show=womenrights. That's what will happen if we listen sex negative feminist seriously, not great equality I think.

It means choice... choice to wear a hijab, choice not to wear a hijab. Western activists have not lost sense of that, thank you.
-
This isn't rocket science. Western feminists are protesting on behalf of women based on the assumption they want to wear the head hijab, an assumption that is being challenged by those forced to wear it.
-
They fought for expanded military participation. Is the assumption that they want to challenged by other countries' drafts?

Most Americans know the so called feminist movement has lost all relevance now and does not represent us

I think this is silly because it comes down to circumstance. If the hijab is oppressing them then ripping it off makes sense. But not every hijab wearer may feel that way. If not wearing one makes them feel oppressed it makes sense to make her a symbol for wearing it. Come on guys

Women’s liberation means choice surely. Not how you define it.

Headlumps are equally vile as a swastica. Because it sees *all* men as animals, who neither can nor should control their urges, when facing a woman without. While only their very own brothers, fathers, uncles & sons are the real problem/savages. Therefor racist, acc to Gutmensch.
