Where "enforced" means "tried to bully people in to doing what they say", but if the law is on your side all you need to do is stand up to the bullying. Easier said than done, especially where your child is further shamed by the whole thing, but it can be done.

As you say, it can be done, but schools don't take kindly to being challenged, so most parents tend to weigh up benefits vs consequences.

schools have no remit beyond the gates and travel to and from is the parent / childs responsibility (unless on supported transport) which schools are normally at pains to state.

Schools still enforce behaviour codes on the journey to and from school, remit or not. I didn't say I support this, I'm just pointing out that it happens
