FYI, the Huawei repo has been modified with a new commit this morning that adds a comment to the README attempting to distance the code from Huawei. It was (intentionally or not) backdated to make it appear it was in the public repo on Friday, prior to our blog post.

Conveniently, it addresses the two things mentioned in the blog post: 1) whether it was an official Huawei release, and 2) whether it is shipping on any Huawei devices, and mimics a similar post to the KSPP list this morning

Anyone who read our blog post over the weekend knows this second commit didn't exist at the time. Furthermore, the code was not developed by someone unaffiliated with Huawei or as suggested on HN some clueless intern...

but according to easily-found public information, a Huawei employee, and according to our sources, a Level 20 Principal Security employee (the top ranking for a technical role within Huawei).

This backdated commit is now being used by people to paint us as liars or intentionally ignoring information that is (now) plainly visible in the Github repo.
