Not to minimize what’s happening now but easy to forget the breadth of violence in 1968. Two political assassinations in a two month period; the highest US casualties of the war in Vietnam & the riots following MLK’s death were the most violent period in US since the Civil War

I don't know if this is how 1968 felt. I wasn't there. But here is how it seems similar: there's too much happening at once. It always boggled the mind: how could you have war and assassinations and riots and election at same time? Well, just swap in pandemic and econ collapse.

I graduated from high school,near Chicago,in 1968. SOme of this is getting familiar. We're one death away from chaos. I never thought I'd relive that era.
