Few devoted more to the U.S. than Sam Johnson. Sam was more than a mentor; he was a personal hero. Sam embodied the American ideal: courageous, hardworking, patriotic, loving, funny, kind. He had a special kind of grace. I will forever cherish my time w/him. Rest easy, my friend.

Robert Pear was one of the most brilliant & decent people I ever encountered in Washington. It would be difficult to imagine anyone more devoted to his craft, and our country was better off for it. He kept us all on our toes, and he will be greatly missed.

Though he passed away 10 years ago today, Jack Kemp’s legacy lives on through those he inspired. Jack was a mentor, a friend, & he changed the GOP for the better. He offered pragmatic solutions & an optimistic vision for America. We should all strive to be as impactful as Jack.

St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite times of the year, providing millions around the world a chance to gather with friends and family to celebrate the Irish's many cultural contributions and reflect on our shared heritage. Slainte!
