i feel like the avatar series never explored the implications of bloodbending... surely that lets you control ANY fluid in someone's body? where's the episode about waterbenders who immediately make the opponent piss themselves in a fight to gain the psychological upper hand

“is a station wagon a technical if it’s carrying a nuclear device”, the greatest thread in the history of forums, locked by a moderator after 12,239 pages of heated debate

This is wild: the Cleo I device, the first really compact nuclear weapon, was delivered to Nevada Test Site for the Teapot Tesla test (7 kilotons), 1955, in two large suitcases. The guy carrying them — and eating lunch on one of them — is known only as "summer intern Tommy."

blueticks having to pay for the status symbol, while bad from a "pay to get bigger reach" standpoint, will be very funny for making it even more embarassing to have a tick. everyone knows you bought that little pat on the back now

drawing a comparison between k*f*ms and sex workers both getting deplatformed as your argument for neutrality is a reprehensible position. you cannot "free speech & expression" your way through this sort of mess when a group's use of that is to attempt to kill people

Infrastructure providers are rarely well-placed to evaluate the real-world harms resulting from online actions. So instead of policing content, they should focus on their core mission: providing and improving reliable services. eff.org/deeplinks/2022

spent 4 hours playing GTFO with and we managed to complete one (1) mission... playing without the full 4 player team seems to double the difficulty lol. the bots to fill ranks suck at stealth tho so we cut them...

one cultural shift that twitter gave us that i don't think there's ever returning to is that rich and powerful people now have all of the people who hate them taking up space in their brains and they will never again be able to pretend that they are universally liked
