And here's my helpful hints thread: *There are several judges this year (as well as last). It’s quite competitive, we take on about a quarter of applicants. With that in mind... *Friendly is fine as long as it’s professional. This is an application, use appropriate language.

*Use inclusive language. I know ‘hey guys’ can seem gender neutral, there’s articles about why it’s not. Go look them up. *Which leads to my biggest gripe. NO SMILEYS/EMOJIS. I am dead inside. The other judges might be okay with it.

*Red squiggly line is your friend. Pay attention to it. *Take some time to think about your responses. You’ve got some time, don’t rush! *Relevant experience is exactly that. Worked in any customer facing role? Great! It doesn’t have to be explicitly game/game dev related.

*The flip side of that.. We get a lot of applicants saying that they’ve played games since they were very young. I didn’t play until I was in my 20s. We’re not looking for gamers. *Why you want to volunteer is important! I know this is hard, but I believe in you!
