I don't know if this is the same guy, but someone in corporate decided it was a good idea for Sears to sell Rolex watches. Not exactly a good Middle America expects from Sears (Tiffany's, maybe) & people thought they were knockoffs. Changing the Kenmore brand didn't help either.
