has chosen 17 new astronaut candidates from more than 22K applicants. Five are career astronauts, 11 are astronaut reserves, and former UK Paralympian medallist John McFall is a Parastronaut – he could be the first person with a disability to go into space.

📷 This latest image from the NASA/ESA/CSA James #Webb Space Telescope shows an unprecedented view of the iconic Pillars of Creation – where new stars are forming within dense clouds of gas and dust. 👉 esawebb.org/news/weic2216/
This vertical image has layers of semi-opaque rusty red coloured gas and dust that starts at the bottom left and goes toward the top right. There are three prominent pillars rising toward the top right. The left pillar is the largest and widest. The peaks of the second and third pillars are set off in darker shades of brown and have red outlines.
