Right, that's a great deflection, but what specific problems do you have? If it's a duck, where are the quacks?

WOF competes - for data consumers - for data sources - for contributors that is in general is a dismal failure, dosn't make it less an attempt at competing with OSM.

I don't agree that WOF competes with OSM for any of those things, but even if it does, I don't see how that means Mapzen and Linux Foundation hate OSM's guts... Open data is not a zero sum game.

Latest post on http://mapzen.com  is "WOF ꞉fist-bump꞉ OSM" concluding "...you may be wondering what this has to do with OSM? Answer is: I don’t know, but..." So my q. still holds: Can you show any pos. statement on #OSM in recent communications of Mapzen/@linuxfoundation?

Can you find any position statement that says there's any animosity?

did you actually read that post? it talks about how the projects are different and can work together. and are not competing. also, the latest mapzen blog post is about the Linux Foundation. to get to the blog post you're talking about you have to go back 4 pages.

Clever tactics to ignore OSM and/or to pretend how different the projects are. And you interpret that as positive communication for #OSM?

You should try that positive communication for OSM thing. It might help your case. As it is, this thread is a strong example of why organizations like Linux Foundation or Mapzen would want to stay far away from being associated with the OSM community.

I just expect @Mapzen + @linuxfoundation declare & attribute their data source. OSM is maturing faster you may think. I love to see more orgs&companies using #OSM. IMO this thread is an example how they should be strongly reminded on what "giants shoulders they are standing upon"

Yes. And it also shows how open needs to be open. How might we @openstreetmap collaborate and learn with other open organizations? And how can we improve as a community?

What is an "open" organisation? Seriously.
