Yep, the various frameworks struggle with local dev. https://ryanmccue.ca/lambda-local-environments-are-complicated/ … [But http://arc.codes works locally out of the box using `npm start`!]

This is a problem across everything
#serverless. If I ran a cloud provider, I would be sprinting to make lightweight, offline, API compatible version of all my products. Dynalite but for everything.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

AFAICT, they’re sprinting in the other direction to take all dev to the cloud.

One could argue things are better now, but it didn't really work for Heroku. I do think all dev in the cloud will happen, but everything seems to slow (
CF) and expensive to do that now.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
All I want in the mean time is a local black box that acts the same as my cloud black box. ... and isn't a massive JVM process ... and isn't a rube goldberg of docker containers

It's not exactly a rube goldberg is it? Seems like just a simple docker compose command:https://github.com/localstack/localstack …

Gah sorry didn't actually look at what your link was. I like localstack. I would love AWS to own it and preferably release updates right along side their API changes.
