Is correctness the right metric to assess whether types add value? I've been more struck by their value in documentation, DX (e.g. autocompletion) and refactoring.

It is a good point and brought up in the grand parents replies! I think there are lots of reasons types could be beneficial. Right now I see value in adding them to my JS projects. But it's all just gut feel.

Pure anecdata, but I’ve definitely prevented bugs via Flow warnings (most often when relying on falsiness that would have inadvertently treated 0 as boolean). Not sure how to measure “refactorability”, but it’s easier too: affected modules reveal themselves.
