It is a bit of a strawman, but http://Bustle.com uses GraphQL for their posts. GitHub probably wants a CDN in front of API
like json schema? We have used in the past, but still left a lot of wiggle room. graphql more complete out of the box.

Yeah, or JSON API which is a bit stricter about defining the types of resources within an API.

have looked at JSON API too. I see it as pretty equivalent to graphql. but graphiql and node reference imp of graphql wins IMO

that said, I wouldn't say we made elaborate calculated decision about graphql...

we had a dev excited about using it and they ran with it. We ended up happy. But the "ah ha!" moments took some time.
