There may be some legit debate about what is "fair criticism" of npm, but honestly I don't care. Its just broken and that sucks.
Imagine building a house and randomly your table saw breaks. Doesn't matter if you found that saw in a dumpster. Still sucks.
The tragedy is that we didn't have to go this route. npm could have been a community funded project. Instead VCs, private corp, etc.
For that I don't blame npm peeps. Our startup/VC obsessed community made it the best available option. I prob would have gone the same route
TLDR npm makes me sad. I blame capitalism. I don't know how to fix it.
If you do write another package manager, please distribute if with npm ;-)
