Gave up on Typescript for now. I like it, but too much struggle for refactoring a large existing lib. Prob better for small or greenfield.

advice: don't do it all at once; create TypeScript interface definitions first and leaving portions as JS. port piecemeal.

yeah biggest early struggle was aws-sdk and having to write my own type interfaces. Sounds like official support soon though.

DefinitelyTyped repo was a lifesaver when we were using TypeScript at Vidmaker.

helps. used that. But came across many incorrect defs. Adds to frustration. That aws one is ~20% complete.
