If you started writing a new backend in Node.js today… what libs/frameworks/tools would you use?

@southpolesteve i’m on this path, what should i use with lambda? ideally i want something that is abstract enough to not be tied to a PaaS -
@ebryn API gateway in front is essentially your "router". We build a tool for wiring everything up and deployment:https://github.com/bustlelabs/shep

@ebryn There are other tools/frameworks for api gateway + lambda. I'm not a fan, but thats a discussion larger than fits in twitter. -
@southpolesteve yeah, i don’t want to couple to AWS for reasons that can’t fit in a tweet :) -
@ebryn ah gotcha. That is tough then. Check out IBM open whisk. It is the only open source "serverless" platform -
@southpolesteve is nobody building the abstractions to avoid AWS coupling? how do you mock AWS for testing? or run things locally for dev? -
@ebryn eh I know of a couple very early attempts. but nothing good. our CLI tool has a cmd for running functions locally. -
@southpolesteve can i get you in a hangout for 15m today? :) -
@ebryn sure! Let's move to email. southpolesteve at gmail
