Whats the context? Releasing nodejs? I like `np` for releasing to npm.

Mostly trying to see what tooling we could use to make things more consistent and familiar across the org. Standardizing on a toolset would probably end up easing a lot of pain... having that toolset include automation would be even better.

We have a boatload of things. Node.js itself. node-chakracore. readable-stream. CITGM. llnode. node-core-utils. Having consistency across everything would be amazing.

How many people can release those things? I often find deploy tooling suffers because limited people are allowed to release. The friction becomes normal.

Sounds about right. For each, it's probably 2-5 people... few of whom are releasers on the others. I've seen so many suffer through the friction. Ideally automating and normalizing would also enable more releasers on each project because the barrier would be lower 🤔

yep! it goes both ways. more releasers leads to better tooling. better tooling leads to more releasers.
