Worth noting that I made this 80s tinged version of this song in about a half an hour this afternoon. The original was posted last March. It's very uncensored. I kind of really hope "Medi Mother Forking Care" becomes a thing.pic.twitter.com/JBa70oF2ry

Also, I'm a die hard Bernie/AOC/Abrams guy but I also made this video for Clinton in 2016:https://twitter.com/songadaymann/status/781121424224313344 …

Cute! But I wonder about the deductible part of this. I'm on Medicare, a fairly standard PPO plan, and my deductible is 6K a year. How will that help families struggling to make ends meet?
-
I can’t speak to specifics, but in a very crude and high level way using myself as an example: Our premiums right now are about $8k. Rather than pay that to insurance companies, my taxes will go up a bit so that money would going into the Medicare For All pool.
-
The idea would be that because of the gov’s ability to negotiate more fair prices + lower administrative costs, that total amount that I’d pay in via taxes would be actually less than the 8k I pay a year now. Presumably you’d also be paying in via taxes.
-
And ultimately the idea is that none of us would have deductibles. Just full coverage that we pay for through taxes and not premiums.
-
And when you add in deductibles, co-pays, and coinsurance that number likely skyrockets well beyond 8k. We can easily fund Medicare for all mostly with what is already being paid out currently. We would just be cutting out the useless middle man insurance companies.
-
And costs would be lower because the government would have the ability to drive the market down for the costs of services, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.

In your ten years doing this, how many times have you not been on camera?
-
Sometimes it's remixes like this. If I'm feeling really lazy, I grab a video from the Prelinger Archive.
-
oh that’s so smart
