I don't disagree with that but it does seem somewhat arbitrary. Many military videos are monetized, many aren't. Though it does seem to be if you're talking about the 20th century then it's much more likely to be demonetized.

There is definitely room for improvement in the system. But I do find it helpful to think of these things from the other sides perspective. YouTube doesn't aim to destroy history content, they aim to manage the worlds largest video site. It's no easy task, but they're not evil.
