A great opposition leader would now send a parallel letter to Europe: apologise for the chaos/delay; inspire them; say "we can fix this, bear with us"; "a polling majority supports remain"; "best for Europe, best for NI, for peace, trade, culture..."

Anyone agree that the common name for Solenodons should be Natural History Goblins? Here's one from the National Museum of Natural History collections in Santo Domingo.

In today’s scene, a Cuban Cursorial Owl swoops down on a young solenodon. The bird may have stood as much as 3.1 ft (1m) tall. Too big to fly, with highly reduced wings, it may have used its long legs to run down or parachute onto its prey. [🎨: Peter Schouten]

FAMILIA SOLENODONTIDAE. Las musarañas gigantes o almiquíes, únicos Eulipotyphla de América. Solo sobreviven dos especies: el solenodon cubano (S. cubanus) y el Solenodon de la Española (S. paradoxus). Son escasos y en peligro de extinción.
