I don’t support anyone who supports trump - and I’m white. But tell me, why do any African Americans, Latinos; women; old white people; farmers; or blue collar workers support trump? They are all voting against their interests.
-
-
-
5% of any population/demographic is bound to be plain insane.
-
Well, that could explain it, but for some of those demographics (I’m thinking of the old white folks) the percentage is far higher and, possibly, the majority.

There are also white people that don’t support other white people that support Trump for this reason.

One can like Trump for various reasons. 1 is that he is good for the economy and therefore blacks do benefit, others hate him for nonessential reasons, lie spousal cheating, lying and his character which are not really important as for as economics goes.
-
Don't forget obstruction of justice, violations of the emoluments clause...

The truly crazy part of it... only rich people owed slaves.
-
The entire world benefited from the slave trade. It was THE industry driving the world's economy. The southerner who grew cotton, the northerner who shipped it to England and the English making money off the materials.
-
True. Rich people.
-
False. The slave industry pumped millions into the economy which grew every business imaginable. Each business needed employees who also got paid. Those employees spent money at other businesses and so on. That's how economies work. Rich, middle class and poor driving the engine.
-
The oil industry doesn't do that? What am I missing.
-
Everything. This is about slavery and now you're talking about oil.
-
If you truly wish 2 demonize those who were fooled into thinking slavery was a good idea.. thats okay. I choose 2 forgive and never forget. The South paid a heavy toll for its ill thinking. The price they put on 1 human life, was on average, $800. A fortune back then.
-
Only the rich could afford this. And only the rich suffered the financial loss because We said enough. We can't call Our/my USA truly free when SO many suffer in bondage.

Lee did not go to war to keep black people as slaves. He went to war because he was loyal to his state (Virginia) as many people back in that time were. Your ignorance about history and facts is manifest. I get why you don't like Trump, but that argument is a piss poor one.
-
"The historical record, alas, doesn’t support his claim. Lee owned or managed slaves for over thirty years — in April 1861, he oversaw roughly 200 slaves — and always sought to maximize the value of his human property. "--https://medium.com/@reevesjw/five-myths-about-robert-e-lee-d9d6fa331aa …
