I keep wanting/asking my parents to treat me like a peer but hadn't been putting in the effort to interact with them on that level myself. I feel good about tonight!

My dad was passing through town today so I dressed up and took him out to eat in the city, as if we were friends and not just family. He said it was the best night he's had in recent memory
