@solardiz By the way, on what is based the 2018's iso of Owl ? Still RHEL 5.5 ?

The kernel in current Owl ISOs (which are a result of our inadvertent long-term support) is based on RHEL 5.11+ ELS (Red Hat's Extended Life Cycle Support beyond their last numbered release) with a corresponding OpenVZ patch (also beyond their last official release for RHEL 5).

Owl as a whole (not just the kernel) was never based on any RHEL release, nor on any other distro. However, we use RPM and we tried to be somewhat compatible with Fedora and RHEL/CentOS for installation of some extra packages from there onto Owl (but this is no longer relevant).
