You’ve seen the Game of Thrones scene with Jon and Daenerys where somehow a Starbucks coffee cup made it into the frame? Whose fault was it? The script supervisor.

OK, so it's an ad, but if you loved the movie Groundhog Day, you'll love this too.

What I'd like to see more on twitter: scientific illustration or science-themed art from Asia (bonus points for invertebrates). Show me your portfolio! If you're of Asian descent but live elsewhere, show me your stuff too! But tell me where you live.

This female Tropical Checkered Skipper, (Pyrgus oileus), is actually tiny. It was one of the first butterflies to catch my attention when I moved to Costa Rica. The males are a more contrasting black and white. Very common.

Dramatic images, but the cause of it may be us: "It’s believed that the battle may have been over a nesting site. Such confrontations have become more common as more land is lost to urban development. "

This site claims to offer a vaccine for the 2019-nCoV "Coronavirus". And it only costs you .1 BTC (~$1,000)! Bet we'll see a few more of these, maybe even with better grammar. Experts say it will probably be at least another year before a real vaccine is available.

I love doing Valentines comics, but this year I'm busy with a combination of deadlines and sick. I'll definitely repost my older ones, though. This was last year's!

Not much seen at Upper Seletar Reservoir, Singapore today, as it was windy and cloudy. Some Ring butterflies did appeared and were not very active, letting me get a little closer. Like this Malayan Five-Ring (Ypthima horsfieldii). On iNaturalist [ ].

Interesting study about their wings, "Far from being colourful but lifeless membranes, the wings contain a network of cells that require a constrained range of temperatures for optimal performance"
