If young people vote in numbers anywhere near the percentages of other generations they can get any policy they want. College affordability, climate, civil rights, healthcare, immigration whatever your generation decides. It’s your government if you just take it over.

This does not acknowledge gerrymandering. The system is rigged. By all means, please vote. But expecting change without addressing gerrymandering is a waste of time and effort.

But gerrymandering cannot be fixed if people don’t vote. The governors and state houses elected this election will be the ones that get to redraw district lines.

You fix gerrymandering by voting now, in 2018, so that Democrats control the Governors mansions in 2020 and can redraw the districts after the census. There is no other way to fix it unless you can put it in a ballot measure.

Gerrymandering is a strong tactic, but it's not full proof. It's even vulnerable to backfire in extreme circumstances. Also, public opinion shifts the political spectrum even in a gerrymandered system. It causes a slant, but the voters can still win.

Dems need 55% of the vote to win. but it's important to point out that the reason things are gerrymandering isn't just a fact of nature, it's because the Democrats didn't bother to run in state legislature races and Republicans took over and gerrymandered the districts.

Gerrymandering is done by elected officials in the states. It can be undone by better elected officials. If people... you know... vote for them.

The governors running this election get to make the map in 2020 which is good for 10 years. If Repubs win, they draw the map.

How do you think gerrymandering happened? It happened because folks stayed home in 2010, Republicans won and redrew the maps for themselves.
