Today, Executive Somers announced plans for a world-leading Research & Development Center for Sustainable Aviation Fuels at . SAF offers the most immediate way to decarbonize aviation and can be used on the biggest, furthest flying aircraft in the world.

PROCLAMATION

RECOGNIZING MARCH 2023 AS 
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY


	WHEREAS, Women’s Day first took place on February 28, 1909, in New York City, as a national observance organized by the Socialist Party to honor the one-year anniversary of the garment workers’ strikes in New York; and

	WHEREAS, in 1910, Washington became the fifth state to enact women’s suffrage, and our state’s role helped spark the campaign that resulted in the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920; and

	WHEREAS, in 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first Presidential Proclamation declaring the week of March 8th as National Women’s Week, and in 1987, Congress passed Public Law 100-9, designating March as “Women’s History Month”; and
