Tonight begins the holiday of Shavuot, the holiday marking the receiving of the Torah on Sinai--amidst airstrikes and the brutalities of Occupation, rockets & devastation, an increased humanitarian crisis in Gaza. And I find myself returning to the same core Torah truths. 1/x

There is no question that the US should cut off all aid to Israel immediately. The fact that this is a controversial position speaks only to the fundamental obscenity of our politics.

"Many universities have yet to reckon with the data justice implications of learning technologies, whether because of lack of knowledge among decision-makers or lack of interest in a people-centered and structural critique." ✊🏿 Read this, y'all.

My first birthday after having a baby and I've just played the "Is this poo or chocolate?" game for the first time. First of many more times to come I'm sure. It was chocolate, in case you were wondering...

I feel this tweet more than I've ever felt a tweet. I know logically that fed is best but I wasn't prepared for the sadness, guilt and emotional loss of not being able to exclusively breastfeed. And then being mad at myself for being sad...self compassion is really important here

Great article on the important work of city foresters. Also didn't know that the ginkgo is technically a native tree for the US. Plant morr! They're beautiful!

Reporting on Stormé’s life was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Shout out to the for their preservation work, and to Michelle Parkerson, who first released a documentary about Stormé in 1987, and kindly allowed us to excerpt it for this piece.

How long after marching should you get tested? There are tradeoffs. If you get tested too early, you are more likely to get a false negative result. If you wait too long, you might expose people before you get tested. Five to six days is probably the sweet spot.
