The last guardian is a great one! Also Rise of the Horde since I know you said you were a Hordie, gives perspective on where the Horde started. The Arthas Rise of the Lich King novel is also fantastic. Those 3 are pretty good stand alone as well
Rise of the Horde is another great starting point, completely agree. If you go with that, follow it up with Lord of the Clans. I consider those to be a duology, rightly or wrongly.
