I really want sone non-contradictory definitive lore on who was in control during Wrath. Preferably before I have to do a podcast on it!

I'm 100% sure jailer (aka helm) was in control. Arthas's mind defeated Ner'zhul prior to sitting on the throne but because his soul was already stolen/fragmented, he could not hold on against the helm's control for as long as Bolvar did. He's freed when the helm comes off

Uther specifically states Arthas is still fighting to hold back the scourge in the halls of reflection. Arthas lost any ability of full control. He only gained a LITTLE bit when he merged with the helm. But wasn't enough hence why Arthas is diff when the helm is knocked off

There's also that loss of control over time that people need to factor in. He was definitely a different person when he first sat on the throne than how he is during the halls of reflection (Agreeing with you, just adding more detail!)

Yes that is true. Hence why uther said he held back the scourge after all this time. Like Bolivar said also. He felt the presence in the helm weakening him
