We tried to watch this recently... I struggled getting into it. Shame really as it sounds good on paper. Maybe I should try the books... did we try the book already

The books are definitely better - I felt like I would have understood very little of what was going on if I hadn't read them. We did try reading book 1 but you fell asleep x

I disagree, but I came to the TV series first and read the books second, so my opinion may be jaded, but … … I think they're equally brilliant
