Just putting it out there that I wish more games would have numerous gender options and a non-binary option too. I’m reading Link’s dialogue and it’s weird playing as him and having to read pronouns towards the character I’m playing that I’ve been working to not call myself.

For what it's worth, I think strides are being made in that area in games where you're playing your own character. I don't know if the likes of Link, Lara Croft, Samus or Nathan Drake are likely to change any time soon, though.

And sometimes, I think that's important. As an example, there's a generation+ of boys who've grown up HAVING to play female if they want to play Tomb Raider. I don't think that would happen if they could have chosen otherwise, and I think it gives them a strong female character.
