Thing is. I've been in war. 5 deployments. I have seen people be at their absolute worst. Mankind can can be such horrid monsters. I say the question in more of a rhetorical but also shocked question. I want to see people do better. Just...not gonna happen.
I haven't been to war, but I'm a lawyer, and I've worked on abuse cases. I'm never surprised by the lows people sink to anymore. Just disappointed.
I can't even imagine the cases you've had to see. I know you're in a difficult position. I would like to believe you take on cases that stick to your moral code and principles and not sell out to the dollar like so many others. Much love and respect to you
Honestly, man, I work for a great firm. We get compensation for victims, and it's very cathartic. Though, some of the things you have to read and hear... aren't easy. But then, it shouldn't be, yknow? Some things should hurt to read, to hear. When they don't, it's time to stop.
