So, from a distance.... you do sort of LOOK like enemies. And some of your spells are... Look, that glance is less "looking at DKs as evil" and more "making sure it's not a Lich or warlock or other non-Ebon-Blade mob". After the 3rd war, you can't blame us too much.

Bold of you to mention my favorite non-playable class/race/thing(?) as being a relief that I am not! I've got some very unpleasant comments from NPCs but no I suppose I can't blame you XD

There was a solid 10 years in game where undead-with-a weapon meant threat, particularly for Alliance soldiers of any kind. It'll take time to shed that prejudice - and I acknowledge that it is such, albeit a more reasonable one than most.
