I know our situation isn't a viable option in many cities and situations. this wasn't an option for us even a couple years ago. we worked really hard to make it happen. also we are careful with money. we thrift everything we own, both built businesses, and never go out lol

incase anyone was curious why I posted this in the first place. y'all invalidate queer relationships and ESPECIALLY queer relationships that don't look like typical straight relationships. we're polyamorous, live in different rooms, and really fucking love each other

we didn't let anyone else tell us the rules of our relationship and instead we built something that's going to give us room to grow together but also as individuals. the freedom and space we give each other feels like love letters back and forth. this bitch is my soulmate

Dude this sounds so amazing to me!! As someone who absolutely loves my own personal space and worries how that will function in a long term relationship this sounds like the ideal set up!

I never had personal space as a kid and so now I treasure it. I treasure my alone time and not living in the same room has helped me so much to avoid codependent behavior!!

trying to talk my boyfriend into this idea this morning! i neeeeed my own bed. he takes it as “i don’t want to be with you”

-
I'm sorry! here's a tip. rephrase it. you wanting your own space is BECAUSE you want to be with him. you want it to work and in order for you to fully show up in the relationship you need rest time for you! it's good for both of you. a win win
