I can tell you there was some overlap between the early signs of GG and incel culture, look up the "Wizardchan" saga. Part of the thing fueling the controversy was that Zoe Quinn had months earlier gotten a repututation for shutting down an incel imageboard that was mocking her.

and based on all the evidence that was seen. No-one from there was harassing her. Hell prominent people from there tried to talk to her to say sorry if anything was happening from there. They got mocked and insulted and told they deserved to be ridiculed.
