These are, of course, arguments the leftist doesn't actually care to engage in, because what's really motivating them is the vestigial liberal belief that no one has the right to tell them how they can and can't express themselves.

Have "traditional" gender roles of Western societies, on the whole, brought about more evil than good? Moreover, say you've successfully argued that some aspect of these gender roles has been harmful. Why then does that necessitate throwing the whole package out?

To argue against gender roles, you must first specify the particular gender roles you want to reform, and then demonstrate why they are unjust on their own terms or for their consequences. Unsurprisingly, this is much harder to do.

Whence arises such a bizarre absolute right? Surely it's not one that a committed anti-liberal can hold to. Societies force deviants to reform rather than change their mores to suit the whims of the deviant. As a leftist, you certainly must find this acceptable in the abstract.

Community itself is predicated upon social construction, and gender roles arise from community. If you don't like them, it's no use to for you to either a) wave your hands at their genealogy or b) to whine about how they limit your "freedom of expression."

"Gender is a social construct!" So? Man is a social, a "political" animal, whose social constructions are as natural to him as anything else; to bifurcate the natural and the social is precisely the mistake of the liberals!

It's funny how quickly leftist critiques of gender collapse into liberal self-actualization nonsense. Demonstrating that gender is socially constructed is supposed to shut down all further argument - to be an argument itself - but it only reveals its author's faulty commitments

Love to put various friends who are hostile to religion on the prayer chain and then imagine their face if they found out that an army of 50 elderly women are praying for their salvation night and day.
