I really REALLY wish that folks writing Rust crates would just... LET ME wrap whatever functions they have so I don't have a 400 line main function. and it's because I can either re-implement the entire thing or figure out the magic incantation that lets me return an impl

Because I've lost about 30 minutes trying to move this REALLY MASSIVE MakeServiceFn instance into its own module and I can't because the author of http://hyper.rs marked it as pub(crate) :/

If this was C++, I could do `decltype(auto)` and move on with my life.

All the type safety in the world doesn't mean anything if I'm just trying to give a function some decent defaults because the author of the function didn't think people might need that.

And no, I can't use an impl Trait because there's some mismatch that causes it to require a lifetime binding, but then it gets angry and says that it found a concrete lifetime. Does the error make any sense? yes. Do the solutions others have make any sense? Absolutely not.
