They never claimed to remove every single comment that denotes anti-Semitism in realtime. Not sure what you're getting at here. Asking genuinely, what are you referring to that these screengrabs prove to be false?
In real time?? These are either a week or 8 months old!
Can you answer the question? Was there a promise made by YouTube than they'd erase all comments? I withdraw my use of the term "real-time" and heed your point on that front.
They put out a press release every single week now that they’re removing hate from their platform. These were found in two minutes on one of the largest white supremacist channels on YouTube. Why is the channel still there and why were these so easy to find?
If I had to venture a guess, I'd say because there are 300 hours of video uploaded to YT every minute, and the technology to detect each problematic comment on those 300 hours/min. of video isn't quite perfect yet. Your contention is, what? YT engineers covertly racist?
Nope. That they’re pushing a narrative of responsibility without any real proof, actual enforcement policies or history of doing anything responsible. If you can’t police your platform, you need to do better than just issue press releases.
Please name an open platform that is policed to your satisfaction. Bonus points if it has 500M+ DAU. For Reference: YouTube's Actions from April to June: -Removed more than 100,000 videos -Over 17,000 channels for violating its hate speech -Over 500 million comments
None of them. You seem pretty anxious to let them off the hook, though. If they can’t scale moderation, you shouldn’t scale their platform. They make billions of dollars in advertising. They should be able to handle it.
The world you're asking for is one where you couldn't read this sentence until next Friday when it gets through review. YT, FB, and Snap spend billions on AI to achieve the moderation you ask for. It's in their best financial interest, for exactly the reason you provided above.
Disagree. It’s in their best interest NOT to moderate. Higher engagement means higher advertising rates. Which is why they have avoided moderation since their inception. Curious as to where you’re getting your information about their spend on moderation.
